Campbell/Harris Security Equipment Company (CSECO) was established in 1984 by Patrick J. Campbell. Pat has over 35 years of experience in the design and manufacturing of tools and equipment that embody the use of radioactive elements. He is known for developing tools that can be readily used by “non-technical personnel”.
Because of Pat’s reputation in the industry he was approached by the federal government to help develop a tool that could use radioactive isotopes to search for hidden contraband, primarily cash and narcotics. Pat said that he could, but only if allowed to work with the actual “end users” in the design of the tools. Pat was introduced to officers of the US Customs and Border Patrol service and together they designed what was to become the now famous “Buster” density meter.
Since it’s founding, CSECO has manufactured and delivered over 6,000 Busters to law enforcement agencies the world over. The Buster has become the gold standard for contraband detection by US government agencies and local and domestic law enforcement agencies in both the US and abroad.
