Using a Density Meter Saves Law Enforcement Time during Stops

The Buster K910B Density Meter from Campbell/Harris Security Equipment Company (CSECO) has been used and recommended by law enforcement agencies not only across the country but across the world, as well.

The Buster K910B Density Meter is the first device from CSECO. Developed by company founder Patrick J. Harris with input from U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers, the Buster K910B is said to be the "gold standard" in contraband detection equipment.

Aside from its famed accuracy and reliability, the Buster is also known for its speed. It emits a low-intensity radiation and also features a scintillation detector. These features allow users to scan a variety of materials that include wood, reinforced plastic, rubber, metal, cardboard, leather, and others.

This feature also allows interdiction officers to quickly scan any other object or space. The Buster can detect a vehicle in about 5 minutes or less and an entire average-sized room within about 10 minutes.

The Buster's fast performance enables it to require little searching time when used by interdiction officers. Buster's technology also leave the object being scanned intact, which means interdiction officers do not need to destroy the objects while scanning with the Buster. However, if narcotics are indicated, the officers will do their best to remove them.

If the Buster K910B is fast, is it also accurate in locating narcotics, illegal drugs and other contraband? Actually, there is no specific rate for the accuracy other than the high accuracy that the Buster has. However, the Buster scans quickly because it takes readings every second, while amazingly maintaining the same degree of accuracy.

The speed and high accuracy of the Buster enable the interdiction officers and the Customs and Border Protection agents to save time during stops especially where vehicles pass the US borders (especially along the US-Mexico border). In just a matter of minutes, CBP agents are able to locate and seize cash and hundreds of pounds of marijuana, cocaine, and many other types of narcotics -- all wrapped in tin foil and hidden in various parts of the vehicle.

To enable interdiction officers to search in the more tricky parts of a vehicle such as its underside, CSECO offers a telescoping stick called Buster-on-a-Stick. Attach the Buster to the end of the stick and you'll never have to bother lying under the vehicle during an inspection. This accessory is also ideal to scan taller vehicles such as delivery trucks or 18-wheelers.

The success of the Buster is a proof on how fast and accurate it is. To know more about the CSECO density meter, contact us at 510-864-8010 or email us at info@cseco.com.
