Replace Tools in Your CT-30 Kit with These Updated Tools

Campbell/Harris Security Equipment Company (CSECO) is considered by many law enforcement agencies as the trailblazer when it comes to contraband detection tools. CSECO also launched the all-in-one kit, the CT-30 Contraband Team Detection Kit which includes the Buster K910B density meter which has become renowned for its incomparable ability to locate hidden narcotics and other forms of contraband.

The Buster K910B uses the low-intensity gamma radiation emitter and scintillation detector that enables quick scans of objects that are suspected of hiding contraband. The technology allows the user to confirm whether the suspected object or area (such as a vehicle or a wall) tests positive for contraband within just minutes. It can detect various types of hidden contraband including narcotics and other illegal substances, cash, jewelry, weapons, and explosives. The Buster can identify these contraband items through many materials that range from wood to metals and even dirt.

The Buster K910B also has the RAD-Aware detection technology which allows first responders to establish safety boundaries to keep himself and other people from the dangers of radioactive leaks.

The CT-30 kit also includes the FV-Series Fiberscope, which is the most ideal when used together with the Buster. The fiberscope’s fuel-resistant fiber optic bundle is thin and flexible; thus, it can be inserted into areas that cannot be originally accessed by other tools. Its high-intensity LED light provides clear images even in the darkest spaces.

Other items in the CT-30 Kit are the PN-Series Inspection Probe Kit, the Leica Laser Range Meter, the PM-10 Extension Inspection Mirror with High Intensity Flashlight, and the CT-30 Customer Carrying Case with Wheels.

Many police, border patrol officer and drug interdiction agents have been using the CT-30 kit and consider it as indispensable – for them it is the ultimate contraband kit. While this is undeniable, CSECO still wants to improve their products to make contraband inspections better and even safer.

It is recommended current CT-30 kit users update their by replacing the Buster K910B and the FV-Series Fiberscope with these newer tools:

1) CSECO updated the Buster K910B to the Buster K910G – essentially, the K910G is like the K910B in terms of functionality and performance. Only the K910G is now made even safer because it has no lead-based components, and its radioactive source (7.5 micro curie Barium 133 source) is now 25% less compared to the radioactive source found in other density meters. No other density meter is considered as safe as the Buster – and you can be confident to use it wherever you are assigned to inspections even in hazardous areas.

2) The CSECO team also worked to come up with a newer visual inspection tool, which turns out to be the Perfect Vision V20 Videoscope Inspection System. It is touted to outperform the FV-Series fiberscopes and other competing fiberscopes on the market, and it truly delivers what it promises.

To start with, the Perfect Vision V20 videoscope is a one-piece visual inspection device with a 5-inch, multi-directional high-resolution LCD monitor. The display also comes with a push-button dimming and digital zoom that is 10 times that of a fiberscope.

The videoscope’s large display is an interesting feature when compared to the viewfinder or eyepiece of the fiberscope. With the display this big, it allows an inspector to see clearly into the suspected area without having to look up to see what’s going on with his surroundings. With the large display and the crystal-clear images that this videoscope provides, there’s no need to use cumbersome camera attachments.

Like the fiberscope, the Perfect Vision V20 videoscope has a thin and flexible shaft, thus it can be inserted into areas that are not originally accessible. But the shaft itself is not made from glass fibers, so the Perfect Vision V20 videoscope is less likely to suffer breakage and therefore requires fewer repairs.

The biggest benefit that inspectors can get from the Perfect Vision V20 videoscope is its safety. It met the safety requirements of the Underwriters Laboratory (UL), a body known the world over for its stringent testing on electrical products. CSECO has worked closely with the UL team to ensure that the Perfect Vision V20 Videoscope is safe to use, even in hazardous areas such as gas and diesel tanks. The Perfect Vision V20 videoscope’s safety certification from the UL is something that most other visual inspection tools do not have, and this is something that CSECO is proud of.

As inspectors are demanding a more efficient and safer approach to locating and seizing contraband, CSECO responds by launching newer products that will address their needs. If you are not ready to purchase the CT-40 Contraband Team Detection Kit and are still using the CT-30 kit, you can replace the Buster K910B with the Buster K910G, and the FV-Series Fiberscope with the Perfect Vision V20 Videoscope Inspection System.
