The Hand Held Buster Density Meter Outworks the Competition

The Hand Held Buster Density Meter Outworks the Competition

Since the Buster K910B Density Meter of Campbell/Harris Security Equipment Company (CSECO) was launched and became popular among law enforcement agents across the United States, competitors have since come up with their own version of it.

The Buster K910B was recently updated to the current version, the Buster K910G! It has the old features that you have come to love about the K910B. However, the K910G was improved from its predecessor with newer features!

The Buster’s sophisticated technology — the low-intensity gamma radiation and scintillation detector — is what made it an innovative product. This enables the inspectors to scan through several different surfaces such as wood, glass, metal, cardboard, concrete, reinforced plastic, even organic matter such as dirt and liquid. Plus, this same technology has also helped officers seize contraband that ranges from narcotics to cash to illegally-owned weapons and explosives.

The RAD-Aware technology also enables officers to detect abnormal and dangerous quantities of radioactive leaks. First responders are then able to set up safety perimeters to keep other inspectors and civilians away from the radioactive dangers (e.g., dirty bomb detonation).

With the Buster’s sophisticated technology, the CBP has amassed millions of dollars worth of smuggled marijuana, heroin, cocaine, and other illegal drugs as well as cash, weapons and other hidden contraband in their day-to-day operations.

With the immense popularity of the Buster, more and more companies have come up with their own density meters. Let us compare the Buster K910G to the competitions’ density meters.

Other density meters are equipped with the old technology such as millimeter wave, microwave, radio wave, or ultraviolet wave. This technology allows them to detect limited amounts of contraband. They may scan through one or a couple of surfaces, and their detecting performance may be quite limited.

Most users want a density meter that’s light to hold. You might have noticed that your current density meter is a bit too heavy. Some density meters weigh around three pounds (or over 1 kilogram!). They may be too unwieldy to do easy hand-held inspections. Other density meters appear or feel light at first, but once the batteries are added, it gets heavier Sometimes, they are fitted with internal parts made of dangerous lead, and are too bulky to hold with one hand — some density meters are too big or wide to fit in only one hand.

The Buster is a small and compact device — it only measures 5.5 x 2.5 x 2.5 inches — definitely smaller than rival density meters. And you can comfortably hold, carry, and use it to scan materials by holding it with just one hand! It is now made lighter and less bulky because it is now devoid of lead-based components that are present in the Buster K910B. The lead components not only made the Buster heavy, but they were also potentially dangerous to the user as well as the environment.

The Buster is now ergonomically designed, and can accommodate even small hands (for example, when handled by a female inspector). The strap also makes for a more secure grip.

Other density meters read slow, or are not accurate in their readings. The Buster’s scan rate, on the other hand, runs on 0.25 second per reading and can detect hidden contraband as deep as six inches! The low-intensity gamma radiation technology is what enables the Buster to read quickly while maintaining its accuracy.

Finally, how many density meters on the market that are actually co-designed and co-developed by a genuine law enforcement agency? Not many! Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents collaborated with CSECO founder Patrick J. Campbell to develop and design the Buster, which also happens to be the world’s first contraband detector! That’s why as you can see, the CBP agents use the Buster when inspecting vehicles that pass in and out of major US borders — they are behind the creation of the product!

Despite the presence of competitors, the Buster K910G Density Meter from CSECO is anything but comparable. Its use of sophisticated technology, reliability, and durability as well as its reputation as the world’s first and still the best density meter. The Buster K910G Density Meter truly outworks the competition!
